What Does “Hooking Up” Mean?
I was cleaning and someone knocked over this bowl of water. The first part of your dream seemed like a lovely dream. I take good care of them. Before we see and confront our inner truths and core emotions, we can experience fear of the unknown and fear of what we will find out about ourselves. Fishing could also simply mean the dreamer needs leisure and relaxation.
In my dream there was a tote of fish sitting in front of my front door. Catching fish means you are finding life within what is frozen and having a reawakening of sorts. What does it mean if my question receives no answer? Bonny, Keeping with the idea that fish relate to what we are becoming aware of within our unconscious, it sounds like you are becoming aware of something that disgusts you. I also so two big minnows pooping in the fish tank.
These fish sound like they could represent emotions and unconscious aspects of self. The dead fish could reflect losses, things you have disowned, or things that you have neglected. Perhaps you have mixed emotions in your waking life.
The tote in some ways sounds like it is a way you are processing emotional baggage. It is too full and you are sorting. The fish that are alive may relate to your personal expression blue and your spirit gold. The dead fish may relate to disowned or represssed aspects of self or lost opportunities and past issues bogging you down.
You do look at the bright side of things and focus on eating the fish. Perhaps this sorting is spiritually or emotionally nourishing for you. Perhaps you are also finding a new way to reclaim and integrate these fish into yourself. I had a dream yesterday my Friend and I was roming near seashore and we saw 2 fishes jumping out of the sea back to back Can you please tell me what is the meaning of this?
I clearly remember this dream and not able to forget that My dream has left me feeling puzzled yet pleasant. In my dream there was a tote of fish sitting in front of my front door. I looked in to the tote and called my mother. I asked her did she realized that most of her fish had died.
I was thinking of and calling these fish cat fish because they looked like catfish and that's my mothers favorite fish. However the fish were all different colors and sizes. There was one medium size fish which was gold like a gold fish. The smallest fish was shiny silver and about the size of a smelt it was dead. The largest fish was a grayish looking silver and it was dead. The one and only gold color fish was alive and swimming.
There was also a blue fish and it was alive. It was difficult to see all the fish so I don't know how many were live and how many were dead. I think there was a total of about 25 fish in this tote. I tried to pick it up and carry it to the kitchen to remove the dead fish and try to save the living ones.
I was thinking about all the cat fish we were gonna eat for dinner. As I lifted the tote the water begin to splash around and one of the dead fish almost spilled out.
I could see the live gold fish at the top and I didn't want to risk him falling out. I put the tote back on the floor and started to drag it towards the kitchen but it was still rocking and too full.
So I went to get another container to remove the dead fish. I had mixed emotions. I was sad that they were dead but happy I was about to eat good. One thing that has me puzzles is the fact that they were catfish. My fish of choice is buffalo.
So this has me thinking that this dream has something to do with my mother who loves catfish. I am my mothers primary caregiver. I have never had children. My mother can no longer had children. I am hoping to have children one day very soon.
Your dream about giving birth to a fish may relate to a new potential for growth recently realized. Has something come into your awareness recently? This dream sounds like it could be right at the point where you are just beginning to see something new.
At first you don't know what it is and it seems rather gross. Then you begin to see more to this thing and realize it is a whole fish. I would associate the fish as something from your unconscious that is now coming into your awareness. It can represent something spiritual, something emotional, or an important aspect of self that has been "asleep. Your dream sounds like a nice one! Being the fish would relate to navigating the unconscious or the unknown symbolized by the ocean.
This would relate to your ease in your travels. Since you are almost eaten, it would relate to fears that you are threatened. If we accept things that are larger than us we often almost lose ourselves or our concept of our identity.
This sounds like something you needed to adjust to. Cleaning off your fins and tail could relate to releasing emotions and negativity so that you can continue to move ahead. Overall, I would find this to be a very positive dream of personal development and growth. The ocean can often represent our unconscious in our dreams.
To be breathing easily underwater would relate to exploring your unconscious comfortably. The guy would be an aspect of self within the unconscious that is slowly entering your awareness.
You do not see his face yet because it is still unfamiliar to you. Cuddling with him could represent a reconnection. The fish would also represent what is bubbling up from the unconscious into your awareness.
Overall, this is a powerful dream about achieving peace within self. I'm hoping that someone can give me a clear peace of mind regarding my dream last night, it's really fresh on my memory right now so I'm going to share it straight away before I miss anything. Please bear with me as I share to you which keep me puzzling because this is actually the second time I dream this.
As I was lying down i felt my stomach had a kick and something was poking me like when you're pregnant the baby kicked, it's a feeling like that, but it's not exactly like that. When it kicked, I started feeling that the lump is starting to grow i can almost feel the sensation of the movement and kick and it feels like it wanted to come out, and as it tried to push upward I felt the movement and a shape like a capsule.
In my dream I know I'm watching it and I'm trying to follow where it's going. It went slowly down towards my uterus then cervix; then out it goes. At this time, It felt like it's so real as it slowly went down and I saw from my panty liner what it looks like a ball of blood; then I look up, there I saw this medium size capsule on top of a little bench, then all of a sudden it became a round shape.
If it was real it didn't took more than a minute and that "thing" started to decomposed then explode. Then i look at it again.. This is my second dream, the first one was when i felt the poke and the movement, then that was it.. I'm not really sure if it's the ending. Can any one, help me interpret this dream.
I've Google search this but there's just too many to put things in relevant. Hello Sue, so glad I found your page! I had a dream that I was a fish swimming in the ocean. I almost got eaten but I got away and then someone helped me by cleaning off my fins and tail which I felt glad about and I kept swimming It was so strange - I can't wait to see your analysis ;.
So in my dream i was floating in the ocean. Like the fish weren't upset or anything like that. I'm a 20yr old female. This dream sounds like it could relate to biting off more than you can chew or not being able to swallow everything you have attempted to take in. Regardless- this dream sounds like you are unable or unwilling to handle it and are now rejecting it.
Although this is rather gross, i would say this is symbolic of something related to thoughts and emotions and not actually physical. The toilet could relate to how you are managing your emotions and ridding yourself of emotional residue. The closet is another symbol of hiding something or repressing something. If fish tend to relate to what is bubbling up from our subconscious, this dream is a double symbol. These fish are the things you can't seem to avoid and ignore any longer.
Its time to come out of the closet with something and reveal your true feelings, true self, true thoughts. Hello my dream was about me pulling chunks of fish fillet from my throat then I was flushing them down th toilet any idea of what this dream means?
Had a dream that there were four big fish in the closet I opened the door and the fish fell out. What does that mean? The gold fish could represent aspects of your subconscious that you have cherished and have nurtured.
What has disrupted this for you? The fish are dying which could relate to you not getting something you need. Do you feel like a fish out of water at all lately?
Something is not working in this dream. The question I have is, are you not getting something you need because of a disruption outside of yourself stressful situation for example or are you not getting something you need because of the way you are managing your emotions and unconscious? Although the beginning of the dream sounds pleasant and you believe you are taking good care of them, is compartmentalizing and isolating what these fish represent working?
Do you need to get in touch with something within your psyche and face something important? Your dream gives me the impression that you are beginning to get in touch with some unconscious emotions and information that has previously been outside of your awareness.
Since the water is shallow, you have not gone too deep just yet and are taking things slow. It sounds like you are becoming aware of maybe some icky feelings and it is positive you have not reacted in fear and continue to sit with what you are learning. I had a scary dream that I had this large tank of gold fish and I was trying to save them. They were all gold fishes and actually I have a 10 gallon fold fish tank.
I take good care of them. Well, in this dream I had a large tank and all of them were dying. Somehow they got out and I was trying to put them back into the large fish tank. I could see their mouths gasping In the dream I was so sad as most had died and I could even smell them.. I woke up with my heart pounding..
I would associate your dream with bringing unconscious emotions to the surface. Dreaming of your biggest enemy could relate to your biggest enemy within yourself. Perhaps the best way for you to battle character flaws is to increase your overall awareness of self. Fish are often representative of self-awareness and what we are becoming aware of within our unconscious. I had a dream this week where I was sitting in shallow water, probably a river or so.
I was enjoying the water and the fish in my dream were very distinct. I was a little grossed out by them because they were swimming really close to me, I often felt them touching my legs.
I do believe that they were the focus of my dream, I wasn't uncomfortable where I was but I am naturally scared of fish and a lot of other animals, reptiles, insects and the like The dream has been sticking with me for the last two days or so and I am really curious to find out what this could mean? Your help would be highly appreciated. Last night I dreamed that I was fishing, and the fish was jumping around and suddenly I caught it I put it in the boat and started throwing water over it so he would not dry out I can't remember the rest, what does this mean?
Rick- throwing up fish I would associate with rejecting what the fish are symbolizing. Since fish can be associated with emotion or thoughts, placing them in a bowl may be a way in which you are containing them instead of either expressing them or integrating them into who you are.
Thanks for your response and input. I do believe that I have been dealing with things in a passive aggressive way and feel like I don't have control over my life right now.
You don't realize what manifests in dreams but I guess you never get a break from "real life". Thanks again for your response, your right deep inside thers a lot of those issues that's up in the air for me right now, just floating around. I would agree that dreaming of a car crash could be a sign you were living too recklessly. They could certainly mean a lot and I think it is important to get many perspectives and find the one that seems to click for you.
You know what you dream means once you either think of it yourself or hear the meaning from someone else. I would disagree with your mother. I have found many people worrying that dreams indicate death and they live in fear and keep living! What else could this mean? What could you be losing? What do you mean by crown?
If this relates to teeth, it could relate to struggles with feelings of impotence, insecurity, powerlessness, and self-consciousness. I usually see fish as what is bubbling up into our awareness from our unconscious. Although, fish are normally in water and the water is usually representing our unconsciousness. To not see the water at all is ironic because we are not aware of our unconscious. Driving in the car in the passenger seat can relate to the lack of control in your life and having a passive approach.
Maybe this is what you are battling in this dream. My impression is you may not be aware of repressed or denied emotions that need to be expressed and managed in a healthier way. Seeing a larger fish bite off the heads of the smaller fish may relate to something that feels destructive. Are you denying emotions and producing this carnage? What a horrible dream! This dream sounds like it is processing some intense negative emotions such as anxieties, fears, etc.
Your brother in this dream could relate to him but could also relate to an aspect of self. What a horrible experience this dream portrays. What is the meaning of life? Who are we really? Are we just a bag of meat? Is there something more? This dream also highlights a loss. What do you fear you will lose within yourself? Do you believe you have a soul? Do you fear you don't and this dream could be highlighting the fear of losing this concept within your belief system?
I had a dream that I was sitting in a car in the passenger seat when and a small fish looked like a gold fish was swimming toward me. At that moment I started to think it was crazy for this fish to be swimming and there was no water. Then from nowhere my sister and brother came to the car holding their breath as if they were submerged in water and walked to the car.
As they entered the car I saw a larger fish green with fins on the side of its head come and bite the head off the smaller fish and blood was floating through the water. I dreamt i saw 2 sharks swimming in a huge tank my brother was with me then when i walked out the door i had a bag in my hand with meat the feeling in the dream was the shark ate my brother and it was in a bag in my hand in the end i was crying telling my mother and his wife.
Here are the possibilities I could think of:. If this buddha bass dream seems to have that meaning for you, then it is likely the meaning. It certainly sounds like a very positive dream. Perhaps a search within yourself through a murky pond I would often see this as negative or painful emotions that have not been expressed, do not have an outlet is beneficial and allowing you to grow psychologically and spiritually.
It seems to have a possible message that there is something positive a there is hope within the darkest parts of self. The dark does not always have to relate to something bad or evil- it can be the unknown, the parts of your unconsciousness and spirituality you do not know or understand just yet. This can be rather unpleasant to search through yet, in this dream, sounds like it is beneficial and there is something to gain from this introspection.
Here is another dream I had when I was practicing Buddhism.. I had a dream that I was fishing in a murky pond and caught a bass that I cleaned and found a glowing bass inside.
I then turned to friend of mine and said "look a Buddha bass! It is also important to explore the reasons why you are choosing Lilith to represent your feminine aspect of self. If you are demonizing this aspect of yourself, you are repressing it, casting it aside, and may not be expressing or acknowledging an important aspect of self. You may want to consider reading information about the anima, a concept from Carl Jung.
The anima is the unconscious feminine aspect of self that men have repressed and have cast aside as outside of their identity and not appropriate in some way. For you, it sounds like as you resolve this issue and acknowledge this aspect of self, you will see this feminine as a different character- one that is not demonic-- and a figure you are more likely to accept.
From my past experiences I associated Lilith with the demonic If you would read some of my hubs you may better understand my point of view! Thank you so much Sue.. It all makes sense, I won't make it a long story but Jono nearly passed when he was a baby, I told my daughter the week before that he had a choice of going back home up till he was 5, then he is here till 18 then I couldn't see any more, I left the day before he was taken to hospital and I have always had guilt over it..
I have 19 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren but he's the only one I have guilt over and his brother Trent He's autistic and I had a bond with him since birth..
The ocean water represents emotions to me so you are right on track about Jono and the water and the fish.. My husband passed in 91 Paul and I remarried in Peter but there has always been guilt, caring about another man, Peter and another guilt is thinking about Paul when I'm with Pete.. I know Paul is happy where he is and he still visits.. So there is guilt and mixed emotions.. Just because I'm psychic doesn't work for my own emotions, I can help many others but when it comes to myself then I need help You are spot on..
My question for you would be- why is this darker? Can feminine attributes exist and be honored in your current belief system and how can you balance this?
This dream was during a time period that I was exploring several spiritual options. I am aware of the myths concerning Lilith and I always wonder if it had to do with some darker female aspect of myself? Thank you for commenting. Yes, dreaming of fishing can mean you enjoy fishing. Dream symbols are unique to each person which is why there can be so many possible meaning to our dreams. Fishing can also reflect a need for a break and relaxation- an outlet.
Fishing can also be a metaphor for what we are searching for and what we may find within us. Since the ocean is often symbolic of our unconsciousness, the fish we catch can relate to what we are just becoming aware of. I read your profile and I would venture to guess your fishing dream relates to seeking the truth both within yourself and within your spirituality.
Lilith could be an interesting biblical reference. Within the story of Adam and Eve, there is reference to Lilith- Adam's first wife. The name Lilith tends to relate to feminine empowerment- Americans may remember the Lilith Fair for instance. When I put all of this together, I wonder if you are currently exploring your anima, the unconscious aspect of self that Carl Jung theorized is present yet repressed in all men.
In order to achieve inner balance and a sense of completion, we strive to re-integrate this aspect of self we have somehow learned to leave behind because it did not fit into who we thought we should be.
Maybe when you dream of fishing it only means that you like to fish and you think about it a lot? That is why I felt that I have many dreams about fishing. But I do wonder I once had a dream about a fish called a "Lilith fish" in my dream. Do you have any ideas on what could represent? This can mean a lot of course. This sounds like you are getting in touch with someone unconscious to you. What it is, only you really know.
What is it that is just beyond your awareness? An ancient part of self? The scenarios that you experience in the dream will vary depending on how strong your bond is with your significant other. Conversely, if you feel unsatisfied in your love life, you might have a dream about cheating on your spouse, or you could see them cheating on you.

You might dream that your boyfriend is emotionally abusive, even though he is the complete opposite in your waking life. Often the people in our dreams can represent an emotion, thought or feeling that is tied to that person.
For example, your partner could mean a safe place for you, and a feeling of being loved. A million thoughts will go through your head as you imagine yourself being together with that person you like. Whether you are day dreaming or only imagining different scenarios, these thoughts can have a significant impact on your brain. The more focused energy you spend thinking about your crush, the more likely that person will show up in your dream.
Your crush could appear in a million different scenarios, depending on some various factors. Perhaps there is someone in your life that suddenly becomes attractive in your dream, that could be your unconscious mind picking up signals that you are interested in that person. There are many scenarios that occur in these dreams. You may dream about marrying your crush, or you could dream that you go on an adventure with your crush.
Whatever the situation, it usually is something that is exciting and often makes you want to have another dream when you wake up. You are never too old to dream about someone you like, especially if you are currently single and looking to get back into a relationship. Celebrity dreams are very common among super fans. If you spend hours and hours every day watching your favorite star on YouTube and interacting with them, you are likely going to have your thoughts consumed by that person.
Given the rise of social media, it is now possible for fans to get in direct touch with their favorite star. Unfortunately, dreaming about a celebrity does not mean you are going to start dating your celebrity crush.
A mother who is always thinking about her children is likely going to have dreams that incorporate her children inside of the dream. Conversely, a child is likely going to have dreaming scenarios that involve the whole family inside the dream. You dream is a reflection of your reality. If your family is part of your everyday life, you can expect them to make an appearance in your dream. If you came from a broken home and had emotional issues as a result of your upbringing, then you might have dreams that are a reflection of this pain inside of you.
Sometimes dreams about family can be your unconscious minds way of healing wounds of the past. You may dream of a happy family and an alternate reality that occurred. Conversely, if you had a good childhood, your family members will often represent positive signs in your dream. There is no denying that when we leave a relationship, a piece of that person still exists inside of us, whether we are conscious of that or not.
Break ups are similar to someone passing away. When you are no longer with someone, it can have a significant impact on our unconscious minds.
If you were with someone for ten years and had three kids together, that person is likely going to have a bigger emotional impact than a short fling you had for two weeks.
It is also important to know that the situations revolving around the breakup can also have an impact on your feelings towards someone. If someone dumped you and you never go to express how you felt in the relationship, you are likely going to have unresolved issues inside of your mind.
These unresolved issues can often get manifested in our dreams, as a way for our unconscious mind to heal some of the hurt. By bringing to light some of our old emotional baggage, our unconscious minds are sometimes telling us that we need to deal with these issues.
Dreams are often a way to help the mind process hurt and losses that we have experienced in the past. If you were the one who dumped someone you never loved, you are less likely to think about them or have a dream about them in the future.
The emotional attachment you have to your ex will often determine how likely you are to dream of them. It is very common to dream about lost loved ones or family members, especially if you never had a chance to say proper goodbyes to that person. Unresolved hurt and pain from the loss can result in your dreaming of that person. Anyone who has ever had a positive impact on your life is still going to be alive in your mind.
Sometimes people from our past may appear in a dream as a symbol of something they represented. It is important to look at the situation involving your dream to determine how it applies to you. Sometimes people in our past are just reflections of our memories, and it is just your brain taking a trip down memory lane, reminding you of people who have had an impact on your life.
It is bad enough if they torment you in your waking life, why do they have to visit your dreams? Someone who is being bullied in school might have a dream where their bullies are harassing them, or someone who went through an abusive relationship might have that abusive spouse or partner show up in the dream. If there are people in your life that have a negative impact, it can cause you to dedicate a lot of your thoughts towards these negative people.
They could represent your insecurities that you need to deal with. For example, if you have a bully who used to torment you, forgive that person in your conscious mind. The act of coming to peace with that person who caused conflict can free you of the emotional impact that is tied towards that person. Often forgiveness is not for the individual who wronged us, but for our benefit of letting go animosity that we hold on towards others.
If someone in the past bullied you, realize that people bully because they are insecure themselves. This individual was acting out their insecurities, by trying to hurt you. Sexual dreams about people you know are one of the most common dreams. If you have a sexual dream about someone who is close to you, it might be your subconscious mind living out your dark desires that you have. Young teenagers are the most likely to have sexual dreams as they develop and go through puberty.
One of the great psychologists Sigmund Freud believed that all dreams were sexual and were a result of sexual repression from the dreamer. This theory has been largely disproved in modern society because our culture and society has changed since Freud was alive. When it comes to interpreting dreams, there is no hard science behind interpretations.
Interpretations come down to how you feel about the dream. If you think your dream means something, then you should dig deeper into your mind and start asking yourself what aspects of your life that are reflected into the dream are. Some dreams are the result of our wish fulfillment, while others are the product of our brains processing pain that we have experienced throughout our life. The dreamer is the only person who can understand what their dream means.
A good dream interpreter can help you search for the right answers inside of you, but at the end of the day, you have the final say on the meaning of your dream. I woke up soon after the sex started and once my eyes were open I was disappointed that it was over because the dream just felt so real.
This dream was very long the longest part about this dream was the making out and for whatever reason 4 days later I still can't shake it. It is driving me nuts cause now when I see him I start to giggle and suddenly act all stupid.
It is very unlike me and it makes absolutely no sense. My question is, what the hell does this dream mean? I guess mainly I'm just baffled that this dream has somewhat changed my behavior in front of him. Are you sure you want to delete this answer? It means you feel ready to take your relationship to the next level. To dream about sex, refers to the psychological completion and the integration of contrasting aspects of the Self.
You need to be more receptive and incorporate aspects of your dream sex partner into your own character. Alternatively and a more direct interpretation of the dream, may be your libido's way of telling you that it's been too long since you have had sex. It may indicate repressed sexual desires and your needs for physical and emotional love. If you are looking for a place to have sex, then the dream may be analogous to your search for intimacy and closeness.
Imsges: what does it mean if you hook up with someone in your dream
Last night I dreamed that I was fishing, and the fish was jumping around and suddenly I caught it I put it in the boat and started throwing water over it so he would not dry out I can't remember the rest, what does this mean?
I had to protect the fishes as well because out of nowhere a crow came and tried to dart for the bowl while I was saving the fishes off of the carpet and I even got bit by the crow trying to protect the fish. I tend to associate them with things we may devalue such as emotions we have cast aside and unimportant or not worth keeping.
I had a dream that I was sitting in a car in the passenger seat when and a small fish looked like a gold fish was swimming toward me. What is the meaning? This could mean that your cousin was yourself when you were a kid, and your boss is you now. Can you please tell me what is the meaning of this? If it was real it didn't took more than a minute and that "thing" started to decomposed then explode. So there is guilt and mixed guys not dating anymore.
