This beloved campground is located on an old homestead amongst year old apple and pear trees, beautiful shade trees and amazing wildlife.

Also among the daily visitors are equestrian campers and day-users. Humboldt Redwoods State Park has over miles of trails, many of which are open to horses.

People come from all over the United States to visit this campground! As the host, you will interact with a wide variety of people and their beautiful horses, but horse experience is not required.

The host at Cuneo Creek registers campers and day-users, sells firewood and answers a myriad of questions. Full hook-ups are provided. For the right people, Cuneo Creek is a dream come true. This position doesn't come open often, so please call soon. This is a highly desirable host position and is likely to be filled quickly.

Albee Creek is a favorite spot for many families who often stay a week or two at a time. Recreational opportunities abound at Albee Creek as this area is an entry point to many trails that are open to hikers, bicyclists and equestrians. Swimming and wading holes are nearby, as well as in the two creeks that border the campground itself. Hosts will cover shifts in the kiosk usually once or twice a week, depending on staffing levels. Light maintenance work is appreciated, but not required.

Russian Gulch State Park This scenic park along the Mendocino Coast is located three miles north of Mendocino and seven miles south of Fort Bragg and includes beautiful beaches, bluffs, trails and a waterfall. The park has 29 camp sites and one group camp. Host duties include grounds maintenance, assisting campers, firewood sales, and housekeeping.

Four month commitment desired. This host site has full hook-ups water, sewer and electrical 30amp but no propane hook-ups. This position requires use of weed whips, mowers and other grounds keeping tools.

There is no wifi in the park. There are places in the park where cell service works. Van Damme State Park This park is located two miles south of Mendocino along the scenic north coast and has a mild climate and wonderful trails. Host sites have water, electric 30 amp and sewer hookups, but no propane available.

There are two host sites. Some Camp host duties include assisting campers, fire wood sales, housekeeping and light maintenance. Other Camp Host duties include light maintenance and running a small visitor center. There is no wifi at the park, cell phone signals are not strong. Westport Union-Landing State Beach This state park showcases the rugged beauty of the Mendocino Coast with sweeping views of the restless Pacific, tree-covered mountains and the Lost Coast.

The park is three miles north of the town of Westport. Host duties include assisting campers, fee collection, firewood sales, housekeeping and light maintenance. Electrical, water and sewer hook-ups are available.

The host sight overlooks the beach and ocean. Malakoff Diggins State Historic Park, a forested 3,acre park, is the site of California's largest hydraulic gold mine. The park contains 28 campsites without hookups, 3 cabins and has a separate day use area. The preference is for a host who can commit to a six-month assignment, but we can be flexible. The newly renovated camp host site provides 50 amp electricity, water and sewer. A minimum of 3 months commitment is required. Elk Prairie also has one cabin host site and can accommodate up to at 30' RV. Gold Bluffs Beach Campground is located on a beach. There is one camp host site, it can accommodate a 24' trailer or an RV that is no more than 28'.

Salt Point State Park The camp host will provide information to visiting public, report medical emergencies, and other park related problems to the staff, and supplement the maintenance staff by performing minor housekeeping in the campground rest rooms.

The camp host must be willing to work with people and possess good communication skills as well as possess the ability to collect fees, make change, and perform simple accounting procedures.

The camp host reports to the designated Campground Ranger. The camp host must be willing to work weekends and holidays. The schedule for this position is 4 days on and 3 days off with one weekend day off.

Applicants must be willing to commit to at least a 3 month commitment that can be extended for another 3 months. Camp hosts will be trained by DPR staff in proper campground operations. Volunteers are needed to staff the visitor center, entrance station and camp store from October to April.
